For six months I followed the minor trendwatching at Fontys Hogeschool in Tilburg. During this minor I learned to spot signals for new developments / trends and to analyze and apply them.
During this minor I did several assignments. For example creating a personal portfolio, a trend analysis and a trend report. All three assignments have their own purpose, more information can be found about this if you look further on this page.
During this minor I gained a lot of valuable knowledge about working in a team and working with a stakeholder. This stakeholder was Leen Bakker in my trend report.

These are a number of images from the trend report that I made for Leen Bakker. Based on my collected signals, I have drawn up trends for them that are relevant to the development of the company. The names of the trends are formed based on the characteristics they contain. To make the advice given at the end of the report even more complete, I applied the scenario planning method. This method means that 4 'future worlds' are visualized on the basis of a coordinate system. This is a nice addition to the trends that have been formed, because one can also see how they can take shape in the future.

In my personal trend profile I show what my personal development is during the minor. I do this by keeping my 'scope of focus' sharp; what have I collected in signals and what does that say about my interests?
A good basis for determining this scope or focus is to draw up a trend map (also an assignment from the minor). On this map you make your collected signals clear by categorizing them. You give these categories a name and they form trends. By critically compiling these categories, you will find out which signals you have collected and what is most important to you.
